021 | Non-negotiable
Enjoy this moment of sanctuary to breathe deeply and simply be present to this time.
It is so easy to let what feels urgent dictate the structure and pace of our days. In the book “Dare to Lead,” Brené Brown reminds us that “Clear is kind.” Clear is kind in our relationship with others. Clear is kind in our relationship with ourselves, our priorities, and what we need in order to create a sustainable and renewing rhythm of life.
One way of getting clear is to name the non-negotiables in your life or in the current season. Your non-negotiables may be about what you’ll do or not do or what you’ll accept or not accept from others. It is one way of naming a healthy boundary to uphold. The other day I decided that leaving my laptop at home while we go on vacation this week is non-negotiable. It needs to stay home so that I stay committed to rest and renewal while we’re away.
