Enjoy a moment of sanctuary to breathe deeply and simply be present to this time.⁣

Over the years I’ve noticed that physical space can have a powerful impact on my spirit and mood. If our house or my work space is cluttered or in disarray, it affects me negatively. Conversely, the mantra “outer order, inner calm” (@gretchenrubin) really rings true for me.⁣

⁣There are also places where I really enjoy spending time because they consistently encourage a sense of calm and feeling centered in my spirit. Here are a few of my go-to spaces when I need a moment of sanctuary:⁣

⁣The dock at our lake home on Pine Lake. No matter the season, when I sit on the dock looking out at the familiar landscape—the perfect combination of being open and intimately closed in by trees—I inevitably feel centered in peace and gratitude. (This is the scene in the video.)⁣

⁣I love to visit @comozooconservatory in St. Paul. Entering into the beauty, warmth and humidity of the Conservatory on a cold winter day restores my soul and sense of hope.⁣

⁣At home, I have carved out space inside and out that give me a moment of sanctuary even when the house is in disarray: the sofa in my office, the comfy chairs on our front porch or poolside, the table in the family room when there is a puzzle in process.⁣

🪴 What place renews your spirit or helps you center?⁣

If you are having a hard time naming a place, ask yourself:⁣

🌱 What small corner could you claim at home for this purpose? ⁣

🌱 What place are you drawn to outside your home?⁣
